The Los Angeles City Council Wednesday approved nearly $2.7 million to hire an additional 130 Los Angeles Police Department recruits for the remainder of the 2025-26 fiscal year. Council members voted 9-4 to approve the spending, which will come from LAPD’s accounts. The footage, recorded on April 8, was released Friday afternoon as part of a department use-of-force investigation.
