And more records could fall in the coming days. Central Alabama had the monopoly on record-setting warmth on Thursday. The most notable was Montgomery, which hit 85 degrees on Thursday and tied a record for March 5 that has stood since 1880.

We want to give you a First Alert for patchy dense fog in parts of east Alabama until 8 a.m. The advisory includes Calhoun, Cleburne, Clay, Coosa, Chilton, Cherokee, Etowah, Shelby, St. Clair, and Talladega counties. Visibility could be a quarter of a mile or less.
